LOVE IS LOVE.
When we come together as a community, we can collectively make a positive impact in peoples' lives. Starting now, 5% of the income generated through sales will be donated to ilga-europe.
As you may know, we celebrate and embrace love in every shapes, sizes, forms and colours. What seems natural for us here, can sadly be oppressed or a threat to life somewhere else. We, the Beloved Stories Community, want to engage in the battle against all forms of discrimination and injustice. This is why we decided to support the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association. Europe ILGA is an international organization that brings together more than 1.300 LGBTI groups from around the world. In Europe, ILGA’s advocacy work takes place in 54 countries across Europe and Central Asia, not just focusing on EU member states. They work with the European Union institutions. (the European Commission, European Parliament and the Council of European Union) as well as the Council of Europe and the Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe. ILGA-Europe has the some key demands for the recognition on diverse families. But let’s see first what ILGA-Europe means when talking about families: They mean you and those close to you.
Not every conversation about what constitutes a family can begin and end with marriage. That is why ILGA-Europe’s campaign for equal rights for rainbow families includes advocating for marriage equality as well as protecting all forms of partnerships, relationships with or without children. In terms of partnerships and parenting, ILGA-Europe strives for equality in law, public policies and practices relating to any form of partnership (including marriage, registered partnership and cohabitation) and parenting (reproductive rights, adoption, fostering and parental responsibility). ILGA-Europe particularly strives for the elimination of restrictions on the rights and responsibilities of partners and parents based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. Furthermore, ILGA-Europe supports an inclusive understanding of family that is not dependent only on the legal status of marriage or partnership but also on the recognition of de facto family links. Most importantly, the rights of the child are at the core and guiding ILGA-Europe’s demands for recognition of diverse families. Let’s make the world a better place for everyone and help the ones in need!
