Dave and Iryna came all the way from Virginia to Big Sur to celebrate their love. They had visited the coast before and knew for a fact that they wanted to get married there. They both love hiking and the outdoors. They wanted a very simple ceremony, no frills, just the two of them. They got married on the cliffs of Garrapata State Park overlooking the Pacific Ocean. In my questionnaires, I always ask my couples if they would like to bring any activities or mementos for their special day. I really want each of my shoots to be personal to the couple. Dave said he plays guitar and would love to play for Iryna on their wedding day. I made it my mission to find a guitar here in California, since of course they didn’t want to bring one on the plane. They also wanted to end the day with a hike at dusk, so I brought my lanterns for some atmospheric lighting.
