When Chris contacted me to photograph his marriage proposal to his longtime sweetheart Carly, I knew right away that this was the kind of couple that spoke my language. He told me how much Carly loved my couple photos in the water, so we planned to go in the water after his proposal. We decided on a sunrise beach that was close to both of their hearts (it’s so important to choose a special place for such a monumental event), and my goal was simply to capture them as they were in that moment. They were so easy to work with, comfortable in their own skin and really in love. We had so much fun with the water part of the shoot. We joked that they were pretty much drowning, but I promised them it wouldn’t look like that in the photos – I guess I kept my word!
