"Photography is like pressing the pause button in a world that has become way too fast-moving. Taking pictures calms me down and capturing moments like these gives me so much joy and strength. I like the idea of preserving intimate moments for eternity. Plus: Photography combines so many things that I love or feel inspired by: people and their stories, pure emotions, honesty and realness."
In March 2019, I attended a photography workshop called “The Rural“ (now it’s renamed The Crefest) close to Barcelona, Spain. The location – a camp ground by the beach of Santa Susanna – was so beautiful. I decided to book a workshop session with talented Dalibora Bijelic, who organized the cutest couple Michelle and Larry with their little puppy Ninetta. This trio was gold! Not to mention the location: beach, blue ocean, sunset light. Michelle and Larry were so pure in their emotions and so gentle in their movement and touches. It was such a pleasure and huge honor to capture their love. Needless to say that their little white spitz Ninetta was the real star of the shoot, posing like a pro and reminding me over and over again, that she does not want to feel left out while I was shooting their “parents”. I will always remember this shooting because it brought together three of the greatest things we can ask for as photographers: connecting, learning and loving.
