"I believe that the best images come from truly connecting with your clients. Of course, not everyone is going to be your best friend, but I cannot emphasise enough the importance of openness and connection in this industry. I ask my clients about themselves, I get excited about their interests, I really make a point of portraying THEM through the images we capture and in order to do that, I have to get to know them."
Christie and Brandon were travelling Edinburgh after travelling to the UK to shoot a wedding. They sent me a DM on instagram inquiring about booking a session somewhere out in the highlands, and looking through their work I got so excited because they seemed to vibe so much not just with my shooting style but with my husband and I as a couple too! On the morning of the session we drove out to Glen Etive and Glencoe with them, telling each other our life stories along the 3 hour drive there, laughing together, talking about everything and anything at all. We felt so comfortable with them, and we quickly became really good friends. Once we arrived, we were all pretty blown away by the beauty of Scotland (no matter how many times we shoot int he highlands, we never get bored of it. We love experiencing it afresh through the eyes of our couples). The whole session felt more like a super creative double date than a photoshoot, and i think that’s why i love these images so much!
